REVIEW: The Substance on 4k UHD
Our review copy for THE SUBSTANCE has arrived! I’ve re-watched this film 5x and can’t get enough of it!
This 4k transfer is absolutely stunning in Dolby Vision/HDR. This movie goes from bright to dark fast and the color timing on this transfer is magnificent! Reminiscent of Neon Demon for me. I just absolutely adore this transfer! Like I said, I’ve watched 5x at minimum and this disc gets better and better each time!
Details in the front and back are very vivid and sharp in detail. Dennis Quaid stuffing his face with shrimp is even more horrifying in 4k because of the added sharpness and clarity in detail
The DTS-HD 5.1 Surround Master audio track is well balanced for this picture, though would have loved an Atmos track for this movie. Dialogue is crisp along with effects.
There’s moments in the movie where it’ll grow loud and soft and this mix balanced it well I must say for a DTS track.
