REVIEW: For Your Consideration [Blu-ray]
Just when you've thought you've seen all of Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. Well, you haven't! Check out one of their earlier collaborations together in FYC on BD from Warner Archive
We love Warner Archive! Today, they delivered us the 2006 film For Your Consideration for the first time ever on Blu-ray!
Situated on a BD-50 this LOL! comedy shines and will have you cracking up from the opening scene.
Director Christopher Guest reunites with his star-packed team from A MIGHTY WIND, BEST IN SHOW and WAITING FOR GUFFMAN for this hilarious, keen-edged comedy set in a town where "Oscar " is the backbone of an industry not know for having a backbone. In FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION, buzz of a potential Oscar nomination sends the cast and crew of the low-budget indie film HOME FOR PURIM into a wide-eyed frenzy. Catherine O'Hara, Harry Shearer, and Parker Posey play PURIM's lead actors who ride the wave of a buzz with odd and oddly touching results. Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, John Michael Higgins, Jane Lynch, Michael McKean, Bob Balaban and Fred Willard round out the cast of Hollywood types more than happy to exploit, bask in and leverage the Oscar hype.
The film originally premiered at TIFF on September 16, 2006 and was produced on a $12.6M budget.
The film has since built a cult following as the characters from the film and the actors playing them and delivering some of the funniest character actors I’ve seen in a long time!
It’s one of those early 2000’s comedies that wasn’t afraid to be funny. They didn’t give a crap - Guest, Levy, O’Hara, Willard, Jennifer Coolidge amongst others will have you cracking up over and over again.
Presented with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and 16x9 format with a DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround.
Warner Archive released this onto a BD-50 allowing for the best picture quality and sound to abound - and it does!
I encourage you to listen to the hysterical Commentary track by Co-Writers CHRISTOPHER GUEST & EUGENE LEVY! Giving insights into how the film was made.
Plus over 30 Minutes of Hilarious Bonus Material and The Original Theatrical Trailer
